Welcome to Greece, or historically Macedonia (not to be confused with the former Yugoslav republic & now independent nation of Macedonia)!
The group have just landed, ahead of schedule, & are currently clearing immigration & awaiting their baggage.
After transferring into the center of Thessaloniki we will check-in to our hotel & begin getting to know this fascinating city - whose history includes ancient Macedonians (including Philip & Alexander), Romans, Sephardic Jews expelled from Spain after 1492, Ottoman Turks (including Ataturk who was born here), Nazi Germany, modern-day Greeks, & recent waves of tourists & immigrants.
